Anyone else hate the Texting Shortcuts?
I think it’s from reading 1984…the shortcuts remind me too much of NewSpeak. it’s scary how it’s become it’s own language, right? i can’t bring myself to use them on my phone…

) NewSpeak is genius.
I hate txtlinggo because of its negative connotations here in the Philippines. Too much shortcuts, sticky caps, and spelling through number-sound-a-likes are all reminiscent of uneducated, jobless, street people.
Plus, I think it’s inelegant and distasteful.
