How can people be so stupid to text while driving?
It must be a real problem because they really did a survey to see how likely is that someone accident while Texting and driving at the same time. Where is common sense and responsibility of individuals more? Tor Thor: That's the most horrible thing I've heard so far. There must be something you can do about it. Sorry for your loss.
I think the end result is, the driver of that text while driving just do not care, and they do because they can. As it is now, no well-defined laws that the driver stop sending text messages from behind the wheel. However, the recent increase in accidents, and drivers that Texting While driving has become more of a conversation between the heads of the law. The fact is that drivers who text while driving do not care about others around them. They could care less if you hurt yourself or someone else thing, because if they mattered a lot, I would not. Their ignorance, and it is your own stupidity. Texting While Driving is dangerous indeed, and here are some statistics to prove my point: * Talking on a cell phone makes almost 25% of car accidents. * One fifth of experienced adult drivers in the United States sending text messages while driving .. * A study conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found that drivers using mobile drivers phones while driving are four times more likely to get into crashes serious enough to injure themselves. * In 2002, the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis estimated 2,600 people die each year as a result of using cell phones while driving. It is estimated that another 330,000 are injured. * According to the Human Factors Society and Ergonomics, drivers talking on cell phones are 18 percent slower to react to brake lights. They also have a 17 percent longer to regain the speed they lost when braking. * An estimated 44 percent of American drivers now have cell phones in their cars. * Of the users cell phones that were surveyed, 85 percent said they use their phones from time to time while driving, 30 percent use their phones while driving on the road, and 27 percent use them for half or more of the trips they take. * 84 percent of cell phone users indicated that they believe using a phone phone while driving increases the risk of being in an accident.
